CLARA @ SISC Sixth Annual Conference, Venice

CLARA organised a science-policy session on October 18, 2018 during the annual conference of the Italian Society for Climate Sciences dedicated to climate services.

The session was chaired by Dr S. Torresan (CMCC, RAAS - Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies division) and featured several talks from the CLARA team members: Ms F. Larosa presented a bibliometric study that explores climate innovation in Europe. Dr S. Gualdi introduced the modelling that underpins the seasonal climate forecasts and downstream applications. Dr E. Delpiazzo presented a case study on evaluation of the value unleashed by climate services, on example of “Climate proof Strategy Tool” that assesses future water availability. Dr V. Marletto presented the service WRI - Water Resources for Irrigation.  Mr M. Amadio presented a validation study of economic flood models on examples of various empirical cases in Italy.
